LUSH Cosmetics Mini Haul + Review
8/06/2016
Lush is one of my guilty pleasures in life. Whenever I go to the mall, the smell of shea butter, bath bombs and turkish delight infuse my nose. I repeat to myself this mantra: "Amera, you do not need to buy anymore hair conditioner or face masks until you're done with the ones at home!". Somehow I end up dishing out on everything! Everything there smells so delish and looks so Tumblr-y. I would go in with the intention of buying a bath bomb and I will come out with a maxed out credit card and toothy tabs in my bag. Then I have to go home and search up how to even use toothy tabs! Now that that's all out of the way, lets go straight into what I got!
The first thing I bought was this Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze. It is a hair treatment that claims to improve the strength of your hair while also conditioning it. This hair treatment is filled with lustrous oils such as Jojoba, almond, Brazilian nut and extra virgin olive oil. With all of those oils, of course it will hydrate your hair! It is a pre-shampoo treatment that you leave on for a half hour. I choose to keep the hair mask on for 4-5 hours because I feel that it has more time to work. It has a sexy Jasmine scent to it that will linger for a few days! I received a ton of compliments on the appearance of my curly hair and how soft and bouncy it looked. Ever since bleaching my hair over 2 years ago, I felt like this was the only product that healed the damage from that. I am very happy with the overall health of my hair! There are two downsides with this product. It is overpriced in my opinion because you pay $24 (Canadian Dollars) for a product that you can only use two or three times. I mean you are paying for good quality but it is still a little much. The other problem I have with this is that the product is very runny. This product would be best in a squeeze out bottle. I advise doing this over the sink or tub because application is pretty messy. I would also recommend wearing a shower cap when you apply it because it will prevent leaking and the heat will help the product better penetrate your scalp! Overall I love this product and would recommend it to anyone who needs a hail Mary hair product!
The next product I bought was the Fairly Trade Honey shampoo. I bought this shampoo mainly because it claimed to moisturize the hair. The purpose of shampoo is to strip hair from its natural oils. I was confused as to how shampoo can remove oil and moisturize it at the same time. I bought the smallest size for $10 so that I could give it a try. Let me state that I was not disappointed at all! This shampoo smells so good that I cannot stop using it! The shampoo lathers well and cleans the scalp efficiently. It leaves my hair bouncy, and soft to the touch! I wasn't too crazy about the smell (it smells like honey mixed with molasses) but I got used to it at the end. A lot of people have said that this product gave them thick tresses which I did not find happen to myself. I didn't have the thinnest hair to begin with but this literally did nothing to my hair in terms of volume. I'm not too concerned about that though. I love the effect this shampoo has on my hair!
