Best Products To Contour With

8/14/2016

We've probably all stumbled upon the concept of contouring while binge watching makeup tutorials on Youtube. It isn't really as difficult as it may seem, you just need precision, a brush and a good contour product! I've listed down below a few cult favourites!

                                       1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette ($52 CAD)
There are two versions of this palette: a powder version and a cream one. Which one you like will be based on personal preference, but overall both products come out with a beautiful outcome. You may wonder why you need a palette rather than only one individual shade, and the answer is that with a palette, you are getting shades you can highlight with, bake with and even set your whole face with! It is pretty versatile and a great product to choose if you can never find the perfect shade to match your complexion!

2. Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette ($55 CAD)

This palette is a similar concept to the ones above. It features 3 shades for contouring and 3 shades for highlighting. This palette works for a wide range of skin tones, blends and sheers out well, and is very well pigmented. It is a great product to consider when starting out with contouring and highlighting.

3. Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour Stick ($26 CAD)

This is an easy to use and fast way to chisel your cheeks! Its great for those mornings when you want to contour but you don't want to contour. It's a creamy formula that should be blended out with a damp beauty blender or a makeup sponge. It may be a bit hard to blend out with a brush because of the texture of it, but see what works for you.

4. Too Faced Cocoa Contour Chiseled to Perfection Palette ($52 CAD)

This palette was formulated for all chocolate and makeup lovers! This palette smells like a bar of chocolate! Do you know how hard it is to not buy any Too Faced product while at Sephora? The struggle is real. Anyways, if you’re not really phased by the smell of cocoa, the product it self will get you running to your nearest makeup store. This palette will give you instant cheekbones and will carve out your face like a pumpkin on Halloween night (that’s a good thing by the way)!

                                          4. Nars Sculpting Multiple Duo ($52 CAD)

This dual ended stick will give you a slimmer face with the dark side, and the lighter side will give you an illuminating glow! The good thing about this product is that you can also use it as an eye shadow and blush too! It is a creamy formula that goes on smoothly and blends easily.

5. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Brush ($43 CAD)

A great dual ended brush to use with your contour powder. One end of the brush is to contour with while the opposite is a tapered highlighting blush.

         6. Sephora Pro Angled Contour Brush #75  ($37 CAD)

Another brush that is great for contouring is this one by the Sephora brand. It is very dense which means that it will give you more of a stronger and cleaner contour line.
